The Designation of Cam’s Contour for Piston Pump with Steady Flux
Zhongxu Tian; Xiaochuan Chen
In order to get steady flux of the piston pump, an analytical method is given to push the driving cam’s contour forward. The contour can be expressed by patch function analytically, which can be used conveniently as well as the study of the pump’s performance is easy to be realized.

Analysis on Product Technical Risk with Bayesian Belief Networks
Ming Chen; Yun Chen; Bingsen Chen; Qun Wang
With the development of the science and technology, products are more and more complex, e.g. more functions integrated into one product, abilities of products are stronger and stronger, degrees of automatization and intelligentizing are higher and higher. In order to develop products successful, we must analyze product technical risk systematically and comprehensively. All products’ behaviors that don’t satisfy their functions are function failures, i.e. product technical risk. The sources of causing risk are the products’ structures. We anticipate the behaviors of the target product, seek the potential function failures, and analyze the causes, and then set up BBN model. With this methodology, we have analyzed the product technical risk of a microelectronic equipment.

The Application of Inverter-Driven Technology on the Crimping Machine
Runqing Zhu; Lixin Lu; Limin Li; Huan You
In this paper, an innovative design of crimping machine which is based on inverter-driven technology and adopted embedded PSOC system hardware platform is discussed. This improvement will abandon original disadvantages such as: bulky mechanical structure` low efficient` unsteady crimping quality` heavy noise etc, and make the inverter-driven technology available to control crimping machine.

An Effective Algorithm of Shortest Path Planning in a Static Environment
Lingyu Sun; Xuemei Liu; Ming Leng
Path Planning is generating a collision-free path in an environment with obstacles and optimizing it with respect to some criterion. Because of its importance in robotics, the problem has attracted a considerable amount of research interest. In this paper, we present an effective algorithm of shortest path planning for planar mobile robot whose time complexity is O(4 × ), is the geometric complexity of the static planar environment. The success of our algorithm relies on exploiting both a tabu restriction and the greedy strategy of the algorithm. Our experimental evaluations on four different test cases show that our algorithm produces the shortest path very quickly.

Predicting Assembly Quality of Complex Structures Using Data Mining
Ekaterina S. Ponomareva; Kesheng Wang; Terje K. Lien
Our research aims at obtaining the relevant factors that cause the decrease in quality of assembly parts. Decision tree technique was employed to induce useful information hidden within a vast collection of data. The major objective of this study was to classify the existing data into certain types of segmentations and then predict the behaviour of a ball joint assembly. The intervals of the rolling time and achieved rolling force leading to occurrence of the high moment values of the ball joint during testing stage have been found.

The Development of the Virtual Data Acquisition and Analysis System
Xiumin Yang; Weihua Tian; Ling Jiang; Yongshu Guo; Bo Wan
A virtual multi-channel data acquisition system is developed based on computer technology and the virtual instrument development platform of LabWindows/CVI of NI Company of America. The PCI-6024E data acquisition card of NI Company of America is used as gateway device, and the Data Acquisition Library and data I/O function library (I/O for DAQ) provided by Lab Windows/CVI of NI company are used to abbreviate programs to realize data acquisition of the real physical signals and do frequency analysis. This paper introduces the technology of hardware configuration, data acquisition, waveforms display and so forth of the virtual data acquisition system. And an analysis is done about the time domain analysis module. Through testing proof, this virtual instrument system can realize the function of traditional data collection system completely, has more strong function even.

Data Mining and Critical Success Factors in Data Mining Projects
Yun Chen; Dengfeng Hu; Guozheng Zhang
Utilization of historical data to support evidence-based decision making, is leading many organizations to recognize that the effective use of data is the key element in the next generation of client-server enterprise information technology. To deploy data mining projects successfully, organizations need to know the key factors for successful data mining. This article concentrates on studying the data mining and the key factors for successful data mining, pointing out the progress of the data mining and crucial success factors (CSFs) currently exist in China.

Customer Segmentation in Customer Relationship Management Based on Data Mining
Yun Chen; Guozheng Zhang; Dengfeng Hu; Shanshan Wang
Customer relationship management (CRM) is the new management principle that adapts the business enterprise strategy shift from product-centric to customer-centric. Customer segmentation is one of the core functions of customer relationship management (CRM).This paper will build customer segmentation function model based on data mining, and summarizes the advantages of customer segmentation function model based on data mining in customer relationship management(CRM).

An Effective Refinement Algorithm Based on Multilevel Paradigm for Graph Bipartitioning
Ming Leng; Songnian Yu; Yang Chen
The min-cut bipartitioning problem is a fundamental partitioning problem and is NP-Complete. It is also NP-Hard to find good approximate solutions for this problem. In this paper, we present a new effective refinement algorithm based on multilevel paradigm for graph bipartitioning. The success of our algorithm relies on exploiting both new Tabu search strategy and boundary refinement policy. Our experimental evaluations on 18 different graphs show that our algorithm produces excellent solutions compared with those produced by MeTiS that is a state-of-the-art partitioner in the literature.
