A Framework of Analysis: Approaches in the Applications of E-CRM

Dengfeng Hu; Yun Chen; Guozheng Zhang

Data mining techniques provide a popular and powerful tool set to generate various data-driven classification systems. Asim M Ansari and Carl F. Mela(2003) studied a statistical and optimization approach for customization of information on the Internet., and Balaji Padmanabhan (2004) explored the application of optimization and data mining. In this paper, based previous literatures we illustrate how optimization and data mining interact in e-CRM settings, and expound a framework of analysis in e-CRM.

Managing the Supply and Demand Uncertainty in Assembly Systems

Hongze Ma; Kesheng Wang

To react to changing market rapidly, some companies outsource all components, and then assemble them into end product to fulfill customer demand. For such assembly systems, the marketing environment at both supply and demand sides is quite volatile. So, agility is one of the key factors for them to win the competition. In this paper, a simulation model is built for an assembly system, in which both supply and demand uncertainties are considered. Then, by this model, the effect of supply and demand uncertainty on the performance of the system is studied, and the approach on how to manage such uncertainties is provided. To achieve agility, managers of the assembly systems can utilize such results to adjust their assembly schedule to adapt to the different levels of supply and demand uncertainty.

A Multi-Agent System Framework for Supply Chain Management under District Alliance Setting

Fangzhong Qi; Gengui Zhou; Yongzhu Qi

Multi-agent system (MAS) is regarded as an efficient approach to solving dynamic and distributed problem in complicated operation process of supply chain. The MAS organization architecture for supply chain of district alliance is discussed based on virtual agent federation. A MAS architecture model for supply chain system is created and the functions of facilitator agent and Workflow engine have been emphasized in the model. Multiple upper-layer agent federations are designed to execute the complex system tasks and to implement the system functions. A MAS system framework which has features of high reactivity, reusability, flexibility and reliability is proposed based on CORBA standards. Application example is illustrated in a synergic business prototype system under district alliance setting.

Research info “Bullwhip Effect” in Supply Chain Management System Based on WSRF in Grid

Yan Kang; Shiying Kang

Strengthening the information share extent and establishing the supply chain resources share system based on network is the important measure to weaken “bullwhip effect”. The reason that causes the low efficiency for supply chain information share platform based on traditional Internet and Web Services to weaken “bullwhip effect” is expounded. Through the analysis on supply chain management platform designed with the WSRF.NET technology in Grid environment, the effect of the platform on reducing “pbullwhip effect” is also demonstrated theoretically and technologically.

A Framework for Holistic Greening of Value Chains

Wei Deng Solvang; Elisabeth Romàn; Ziqiong Deng; Bjørn Solvang

Protecting and sustaining nature environment are two of the most important conditions regarding economic and social development. While the resources are extracted from and wastes are disposed to the same mother Earth, managing wastes of a value chain has been segmented and treated isolated. This segmentation leads to the partial optimization in waste minimization. This paper proposes a framework that facilitating holistic greening of a value chain so that total waste minimization can be achieved from entire chain’s perspective.

A BPR Methodology for Product Development Processes

M. Bertoni; U. Cugini; D. Regazzoni; C. Rizzi; M. Ugolotti

This paper presents methodology and guidelines about the use of process modeling languages to support BPR activities in relation with process. The methodology is based on the complementary adoption of different modeling techniques such as IDEF, UML and ARIS. Starting from the analysis of different models, we have selected and associated the most appropriate modeling suite to each phase of the re-engineering process. At this purpose, diagrams coming from IDEF, UML and ARIS families have been compared with respect to following issues: degree of formality, completeness, simplicity vs. detail, capability to describe “business goal” and support to costing operations.

Data Management in Group Purchasing System

Zongfeng Zou; Tao Yu

Introduces a method to solve group purchasing and Price Comparison System framework. It stresses on data loading and data management including data model, database, algorithm and buffer Data Structure. The framework offers a efficient method for loading large and complex scientific databases.

Supply Chain Management in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

Peter Nyhuis; Katja Hasenfuß

In the production logistics context, the success of supply chains corresponds to their ability to meet the logistic performance expectations of customers. This ability depends on the contributions of all supply chain members to the logistical performance of the entire chain. Moreover the overall performance is affected by the dynamic interrelationships between the specific logistic performances of the separate supply chain members. This includes small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). The paper mainly focuses on current supply chain management methods and supply chain management concepts to improve logistical performance and their present application in today’s industries especially SMEs.

Effect and Effect Chain in Functional Design

Guozhong Cao; Haixia Guo; Runhua Tan

Functional design is a key step in the product design process, whether original or redesign. To push functional design into the realm of repeatable and computational, this paper proposes an automated functional design approach. The realization of function is supported by effect chain which is produce by effects using six effect modes. This approach can produce numerous feasible principle solutions in conceptual design process. A design example for functional design of a Chinese medicine mechanism is presented to demonstrate the proposed functional design methodology.

Study on Integrating Application Method for AD and TRIZ

Zishun Chen; Runhua Tan

The AD and TRIZ are the important methods of conceptual design. A planeness measurement equipment is analyzed and the finding problems are solved through using the AD and TRIZ. In order to satisfy the new requirements presented by production line to planeness measurement equipment, the redesign of planeness measurement equipment is carried out by using AD and TRIZ. The new conceptual design possesses many excellencies such as higher measurement efficiency, lower work strength etc., and satisfied the requirements of production line.
